50 Cent Harder Edge Music

50 Cent's next album "Before I Self Destruct" has the New York native telling parents to cover their kids ears.

In an interview with MTV 50 had this to say, "They'll say, 'Oh, it's too aggressive.' ... Soon as you do something that's a little more lighthearted, and you can play the whole record and feel like you don't have to cover your kid's ears, I get penalized for it. So get ready to cover your kid's ears. Now I'm really interested in seeing how the public responds."

Fellow rapper Eminem encouraged 50 Cent to do a film to go along with the album. "Before I Self Destruct" will release on December 9th.

Kanye has not spoken to the media very much, concerning his upcoming album 808s and Heartbreak because he doesn't have to. Mr. West realizes he's his own media outlet, and has posted information about his new album on his own website KanyeUnivercity.com. Yet, he gave an exclusive interview with Big Boy discussing the album.

"I wanted people to take my words into their soul, and have it embedded it their life, spirit and energy," explains Kanye. "When I was a shorty, they taught us stuff with a melody, like the ABC's. So I'm about to express my stuff with melody. It's a fine line, where you don't know if it's rapping or what it is. It's just what's necessary at the time--what it feels like [and] what the beat makes me do."

808s and Heartbreak is set to release on November 25.

Travis Barker Discusses Plane Crash

Travis Barker gave his first interview after surviving a plane crash last month with Us Weekly Magazine. Late last month Barker was released from Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctor Hospital. He was treated for severe burns on his torso and upper body.

"I hate planes. My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened...well, I'm just thankful to be alive! I'm just grateful to be here at all," Barker told Us Weekly."

Though Travis Barker is back in Los Angeles, he's still receiving treatment.

"I am doing the best I can possibly be," Barker explained to US Weekly. "I'm so anxious to get out of here. I was in Georgia at the hospital over there and was scared to death to even get on an airplane again, so I had Shanna (ex wife) and my father come out and meet me and we took a bus back to L.A. I've just been in surgery after surgery. I have third-degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands. One of my hands has second-degree burns and one has third-degree burns."

Travis best friend Chris Baker, the pilot, co-pilot, and security guard did not survive the plane crash.

Judge Makes Rap Fan Listen to Classical Music

In Urbana, Ohio Andrew Vactor was charged with disturbing the noise ordinance back in July (while playing mostly rap music). As punishment, a judge ordered Vactor to pay a $150 fine or only $35 if he listens to 20 hours of classical compositions by Chopin, Beethoven, and Bach.

The judge's strange ruling was to demonstrate to Vactor how it might feel when someone is forced to listen to music they don't like. Andrew Vactor only lasted 15 minutes until he could not listen to the classical compositions any longer.

"I think a lot of people don't like to be forced to listen to music,"said the judge.

Dr. Dre Has Over 400 Detox Records

Quik spilled the beans during an interview with Loud.com, in which he revealed Dre has been taking piano lessons Burt Bacharach and is reinterpreting Chopin.

"Nobody gets to say this, I’m gonna snitch. The man is getting piano lessons from Burt Bacharach and he’s reinterpreting (Frederic) Chopin symphony stuff. It’s crazy, he’s lost his mind. He’s got like 400 records. As a matter of a fact I was there for like four hours, and I think I only heard maybe 60 songs.” said DJ Quik.

Dr. Dre is set to release his final album "Detox" this coming November.

"I just pushed my album up to November 25," he told fans at a secret MySpace show for T.I.'s new album. "We just finished the album. I just got back from Hawaii earlier today."

There is speculation that a song he performed at DNC a month ago entitled "Heartless" may be his next single.

Last month Kanye was arrested for assaulting a camera man.

Cam'ron Album Pushed Back Again

It seems like Cam'ron has been on the back of a milk carton for the past couple of years. During his beef with 50 Cent, the Harlem Diplomat was set to release an album which never released.

Furthermore, his relationship with fellow Dipset members Juelz Santana and Jim Jones have been strained, and now it's been announced that his cd will get pushed back again.

The low key Cam'ron cites his absent behavior as a result of personal issues. His album "Crime Pays" will not the light of day this year, as his fellow Dipset partner Duke Da God told UDubNews.com it won't be released until 2009.

Located at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, the building was bought out by Mark Karasick. Tenants had hoped to outbid Karasick so they could preserve a piece of history and prevent him from raising rent, forcing residents to leave.

1520 Sedwick was declared elgible as a state and federal landmark. Current residents are now concerned about the possibility of their rent being raised beyond affordability. Plans following what Mark Karasick is going to do with the property has yet to be determined.

Jay-Z Cancels Free Concert

Yesterday fans were dissapointed when they received news that Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z cancelled the Miami Obama concert due to throat conditions. The worst thing about the cancellation is that the fans didn't hear of it until minutes before the event.

Though there were rumors that Wyclef & Rick Ross would still open for the event, the concert was cancelled completely.

A statement from Jay-Z's camp concerning his cancellation has yet to be released.

Sugar Hill Gang To Record New Album

According to HipHopDX.com, the pioneers of Hip Hop are back and are set to release a new album early next year. This will be an interesting turn of events considering the ongoing feud between New School vs Old School Hip Hop. Most notably, this past summer rapper old school rapper Ice T sparked a lot of controversy when he told Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy to "Eat a d***".

Hopefully the Sugar Hill Gang can lay down some nice tracks and show the hip hop community that you can still make positive music without selling out. The new album will be released on the 30th anniverary from when their hit song "Rappers Delight" hit the radio.

New Artist: Turbo

If Lupe had a twin brother that rapped his name would be Turbo.

Turbo (a native of Southern California) has a style remniscent of Lupe in that his content centers around video games and cartoons, given from a third person perspective. The 20 something year old rapper is a breath of fresh air, compared to the gun busting rap anthems that flood the radio.

A number of Turbo's songs were influenced by the Capcom video game "Street Fighter II". Songs such as "Gigaton Punch", "Vega Cut", and "Balrog Bonus" each are blatantly named after Street Fighter II characters and fighting moves.

Turbo is a great choice for those interested in video games, hip hop, and politics over synthesized beats!

Rick Ross Admits Guilt

Rick Ross finally admits to being a correctional officer.

This past summer photos of Rick Ross wearing a correctional officers uniform surfaced at MediaTakeout.com, however, the rapper denied the claims. "Online hackers put my face when I was a teenager in high school on other peoples' body," said Ross. "If this shit was real don't you think they would have more specifics, like dates and everything? Fake pictures are created by the fake, meant to entertain the fake."

However, in a recent edition of Don Diva Magazine Ross comes clean and has this to say, "Yes, it's me". Yet, he explains that everything has says in his songs are factual and that he really became rich from selling drugs.

Feel Good Hip Hop Makes Come Back

Underground duo "The People Under The Stairs" is bringing feel good hip hop back to an Ipod near you.

P.U.T.S. is comprised of "Thes Ones" and "Double K". They released their latest album "Fun DMC" on September 28, 2008 and it's far removed from the typical sex, money, and drug concepts that plague hip hop today. The Los Angeles duo mostly rhyme about their love of California over fresh, mellow, & jazzy beats. One song off Fun DMC entitled the "Wiz"was inspired by a trip they took in Australia. The track discussed the warm welcome they received when they arrived and how beautiful a place it was.

"Fun DMC" was inspired by an inside joke, in which Thes Ones & Double K would goof around before concerts telling each other they wanted to do it up like "Run DMC".

Plies - What Was I Talkin Bout?

Youtube celebrities FILNOBEP Productions has made another hit, this time making fun of rapper Plies.

It's no secret Hip Hop music has become overtaken by the South and is dominated by simple lyrics. FILNOBEP wrote a song entitled "What Was I Talkin Bout?" which stars Plies rapping about pretty much nothing and acknowledging it. The chorus to the song is:

"I wanna make me a song but I dont know what I'm gonna talk about
I wanna get on a song but I don't know what I'm gonna talk about
I wanna rap on a song but I don't know what I'm gonna talk about"

The video is very hilarious because FILNOBEP does a great impersonation of Plies, and more importantly, they demonstrate how silly Hip Hop music has become. Through their silly animations and pointless lyrics, viewers can actually sit back and realize that anyone can make a hit song about nothing.

Notorious B.U.M.

It's not funny seeing homeless people embarras themselves for money, but "J Slash" is the one exception. Slash is featured in a Youtube video entitled "Notorious B.U.M." which features the homeless 40 yr old, rocking the mic outside of a Wendy's drive thru for only two dollars. Once you get past the fact that there's a homeless guy rapping and it's funny, you discover a whole new gift in itself.

The gift is that Jay Slash actually has rapping potential. He performs three original songs and they actually sound like something you'd hear on the radio today. For instance, the chorus in his second song about a prostitute was:

"I got this chick for you are you a freak?
Are you a prostitute....are you a freak?
........Are you a freak?"

I know it sounds hilarious but everyone needs to watch out for J Slash because he definitely has the potential off getting signed.
